Marvel’s Wolverine Is September 2026’s Best-Selling Game

In spite of intense controversy surrounding not just the game itself, but the publisher behind it, Marvel’s Wolverine sales soared during September, earmarking itself as the best-selling game of that month.

As always. the data comes from Circana’s Mat Piscatella who shared the top 10 best-selling games both in terms of physical and full game digital sales. This new frontunner means that the previous top-dog — NBA 2K27 — became the runnerup, followed by EA Sports FC 27, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and The Blood of the Dawnwalker in the top 5.

This best-sellers list is actually really interesting, with all but two games having released before September started. Frankly, September had a lot of releases in no small part — at very least passively — due to publishers not wanting to release their games anywhere near Grand Theft Auto VI in November. So, naturally September and October have some solid games on the docket.
