Following the successful release of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft has confirmed that no more Assassin’s Creed remakes are currently in development, despite the success of its latest remake.
However, there is some good news for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players, as the game is finally getting the long-awaited New Game+ mode on November 5, along with several new features and rewards.
The company also shared updates on other projects, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which will receive a major update in 2027, several unannounced games, and the live-action Assassin’s Creed series for Netflix.

The franchise’s head of content, Jean Guesdon, has shared the latest Assassin’s Creed news, including the future of remakes, a major update for Valhalla, and the company’s plans for upcoming games.
There has been talk of new Assassin’s Creed remakes for some time, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot himself suggested that possibility. However, following the release of Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft has now confirmed that no other remakes are actively in development.
“One thing we want to be transparent about today is that we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development. Our teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects you haven’t heard about yet, featuring new settings and stories,” says Guesdon.
Apparently, developing Resynced has been difficult, as the team had to rebuild old systems, add new features, and keep the feel of the original game. Even so, Ubisoft has not completely ruled out bringing back more older games in the future.

The update will allow players to start the game again while keeping much of their progress, along with dedicated New Game+ difficulty scaling.
The update will also introduce new runes, achievements, a stash system, the mithril resource, more rewards, and even an outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It was also revealed that Valhalla has already passed 40 million players.
Meanwhile, Black Flag Resynced has received its final major update, adding New Game+, Nightmare mode, new rewards, finishing moves, trinkets, and more customization options.
Moving on to the future of the franchise, Guesdon also discussed the goals of the new leadership team.
“Led by Martin Schelling, the team has spent the past few months laying the groundwork for what comes next, refining the long-term vision and defining key priorities,” Guesdon explains. “While we’re not ready to talk about specifics just yet, we wanted to reiterate the principles guiding that work: Staying true to what makes Assassin’s Creed unique, continuing to innovate, delivering diverse experiences, and elevating the quality and consistency of our games.”
They also plan to work more closely with the community through private workshops, where they will collect opinions on the latest developments in the series and the direction it is taking.
Regarding the new games, Ubisoft has shared an update on Invictus. The multiplayer project is still moving forward, with very positive feedback from the first private tests. Moving on to Hexe, Ubisoft has confirmed that development is progressing steadily, although there is still work to be done. The company plans to share its next major update in 2027, but has not announced a release date for the game.
In the meantime, Ubisoft has shared a mysterious code related to the game: “ZKLWAVN MBEXNK ULYCNJ… LWY01… I#########F // QNTMAKHX TWTEMZL. YSIZKQ AADSWX NFAAMPHP.//”. However, there is not much to get excited about, as it simply translates to “LOADING ANIMUS MEMORY. CRITICAL FAILURE, MEMORY STREAM UNSTABLE.”
Moving away from the games, Guesdon also shared an update on the live-action Assassin’s Creed series being developed by Netflix. Production in Rome is almost finished, although a release date has yet to be announced. As more information becomes available, we’ll make sure to let you guys know here at MP1st.
